Roofing System: Johns Manville TPO and ProtectoR HD

Champion Aerospace, a leading aircraft parts manufacturer in Liberty, SC, needed a roofing solution for its 48,850 square foot facility. The existing roof was aging, but a full tear-off would have been costly and disruptive to their critical manufacturing operations. So, our goal was to provide a durable, long-lasting roof while minimizing downtime and expenses.

In lieu of a full roof tear-off, Cannon proposed a roof recover as a strategic and cost-effective alternative. Installing a new roofing system directly over the existing one significantly reduced project time and labor costs while still providing a robust, new roof backed by a comprehensive warranty. Additionally, we worked with the Champion Aerospace team to complete this project over a number of years; a consultative approach that allowed for a more realistic deployment of capital.

Johns Manville TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin)—a highly durable, energy-efficient single-ply membrane known for its excellent resistance to UV rays, heat, and chemicals—along with the addition of Johns Manville ProtectoR HD provided an extra layer of protection, enhancing the roof’s structural integrity and performance. The Cannon team also partnered with Alder Energy to facilitate the installation of a new solar energy system onto the completed roof.

A combination of efficient solutions, premium materials, and a collaborative approach helped ensure a long-lasting, reliable roofing system to protect Champion Aerospace's assets for a more sustainable future!
